Medical Refresher 3

Personnel in charge of emergency medical care or responsible for medical care on board any vessel of gross tonnage less than 500 not further than 200 miles from shore (To provide emergency medical care on board these vessels, only Level II is required).

Hold a seafarer’s medical certificate stating the seaworthiness of less than 12 months.

Updating the skills of the personnel designated to ensure responsibility for medical care on board to take immediate effective measures in case of accident or illness on board, during the time necessary for the patient to be treated by a medical care facility.

In accordance with Annex II of the decree of 29 June 2011:

– 6 hours dedicated to UV-PSEM
– 4 hours dedicated to UV-HPR, SM and PI
– 2 days dedicated to UV-SI (4 hours of practical work and 12 hours of hospital internship)
– 4 hours of optional teaching depending on the type of navigation carried out by the sailor
– 6 hours dedicated to UV-AMMCT 3
