AUDIENCE CONCERNED
The basic training in High Voltage on board ships is intended for any sailor exercising the functions of officer in charge of the fourth engine, Second Engineer and Chief Engineer on board commercial or recreational vessels with more than 750 kW of propulsion.
Since 1 September 2020, these provisions apply on board armed fishing vessels.
PREREQUISITES
Hold a seafarer’s doctor’s certificate stating seaworthiness less than 12 months old
OBJECTIVES
To acquire the basic skills in High Voltage electrical systems for all installations where the voltage produced and distributed, distributed is greater than 1000 Volts alternating or 1500 volts continuous and less than 15000 Volts.
