Autumn to bubble – Riff Reb’s exhibition

A comics and manga season in Le Havre

Because there’s strength in numbers and comics have the ability to bring together all kinds of audiences, more than twenty partners have joined forces with the municipal libraries on a simple project: to put comics and manga in the spotlight in Le Havre. From 1 October to 1 December 2024, exhibitions, meetings, workshops, shows, screenings and more will showcase the wide diversity of the 9th art, the richness of its narrative forms and the profusion of its graphic styles. In doing so, Un Automne à buller invites you to discover a whole host of venues, each with its own identity. Un Automne à buller is a journey in comics, as well as a walk through the city!

As part of Automne à Buller 2024, the ENSM site in Le Havre is opening its doors to you for the PERSPECTIVE exhibition by RIFF REB’S!

A veritable urban vessel, with its architecture reminiscent of the silhouette of a ship, the building is located between the city and the port, and offers a ship-in-school environment for future officers of the Merchant Navy.

RIFF REB’S

Born in Algeria, he spent his youth in Le Havre.
Riff Reb’s, a writer with a bittersweet style, has become one of the leaders of a new school of comics, skilfully blending dynamic, innovative graphics with an often irreverent message.

In 2009, he began a maritime trilogy in the Noctambule collection, which proved a great success: ‘À bord de l’Étoile Matutine’ (Aboard the Matutine Star) based on Mc Orlan, ‘Le Loup des mers’ (The Sea Wolf) based on Jack London, and ‘Hommes à la mer’ (Men at Sea), a collection of short stories by various classic authors. Following on from this work, a collection of illustrations entitled ‘Marines’ was published in 2016, confirming his considerable graphic potential.

Moving away from tales of the sea, in 2019 he tackled the adaptation of Jack London’s ‘Vagabond des Étoiles’, culminating in the publication of a superb complete work in 2021.

From 4 October to 30 October 2024, come and discover this exhibition every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 3pm to 4pm. You can register on the following link : PERSPECTIVE Exhibition – Riff Reb’s
