State public works engineer specialising in navigation – safety, F/H – Competition
You have a 5-year degree.
You have professional experience as a merchant navy officer on board a ship or exercising responsibilities in the maritime sector (shipping, classification society, vetting, port sector, etc.) but this is not a prerequisite.
And you want to contribute to France’s maritime influence by ensuring compliance with international conventions or national regulations on safety, pollution prevention, security and social certification.
Our ministries recruit state engineers on the basis of qualifications to carry out the duties of ship safety inspector.
Ship safety inspectors are civil servants who work in Ship Safety Centres and Interregional Maritime Directorates along the French coastline, both in mainland France and overseas. The positions they can occupy depend on the level of expertise they have been given or obtained through their professional career, i.e. inspector in a Ship Safety Centre, head of centre, coordinator of the regional safety commission or positions in the central administration.
If you’re interested in this job, apply for the competitive examination! The closing date for applications is Monday 13 January 2024.
You will be shortlisted by a panel on the basis of your qualifications, your work and your career history.
You will then be interviewed by a panel who will select the most suitable candidates, subject to the number of vacancies available.
Positions may be located all along the coast. Their precise location is not yet known.
A webinar will be held on Thursday 19 December 2024 at 1 p.m. to give you the keys to success.
