Officers holding a Master CoC who do not meet the conditions required for service at sea (or equivalent) to retain the prerogatives associated with the certificate.

Prove that professional skills have been maintained and obtain revalidation of the certificate.

PROGRAMME
In compliance with Appendix 4 of the Annex to the Order of 24 July 2013:
Programme of tests and courses for the revalidation of certificates for masters and chief officers of ships of 500 gross tonnage or more (and masters and chief officers of ships of less than 500 gross tonnage not engaged in near-coastal voyages – STCW Regulation II/3)
Refresher and updating courses in the following skills:
– Navigation / Meteorology: 4 hours
– SMCP English: 4 hours including test (1/2 hour)
– Navigation and ship handling simulator / Steering rules: 12 hours
– Merchant ship operation / Loading calculations: 4 hours including test
– Safety: 4 hours including test (1/2 hour)
Assessment: Navigation and ship handling simulator / Navigation / Meteorology / Steering rules: 4 hours

The course certificates are dematerialised, and can be accessed directly on your seafarer’s portal as soon as the training course has been successfully completed.
These certificates are valid for 12 months, during which time you can use the appropriate CERFA form to renew your certificates with Maritime Affairs.
