New training for LNG fuel system
A new advanced training delivered by the French Maritime Academy, ENSM :
Wishing to capitalize on the building of their 1st cruise ship powered by liquefied natural gas, the Chantiers de l’Atlantique wished to organize, for their engineers from the Testing department, an advanced training on physics applicable to gas in a fuel system.
Following a call for tenders won by the French Maritime Academy ENSM, Sylvain Joyeux from the Testing department, provided the ENSM with the equipment plans, in order to develop a tailor-made training.
Dr. Jonas THIAUCOURT, a professor and researcher at ENSM, delivered five 2-day sessions for this expert training during the year, on the premises of the Chantiers de l’Atlantique.
A very suitable trainer since LNG and fuels stored at low temperatures were his thesis subject: liquid hydrogen, liquefied biomethane.
Commitment and expertise :
With this project, the ENSM fulfils its mission to train stakeholders in the maritime economy and confirms its role as a hub of expertise on cryogenic fuels.
Expertise for a demanding audience: the Testing department in charge of the future MSC Europa, 1st cruise ship from St Nazaire powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG).
