PRESENTATION OF THE COMPANY

The Compagnie Maritime des Iles is based in Noumea, New Caledonia, and operates a 64m LTC, the M/V ISAN, equipped for International Cabotage, which sails on a weekly basis between the mainland and the Loyalty Islands. It carries bulk cargo, containers, vehicles and/or Cl2 and Cl3 hydrocarbons.

The company is recruiting a Shipping Engineer (M/F).

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Weapons Engineer works closely with the Captains, the Chief Engineers and the CA / DPA to carry out his/her mission, and reports to the Technical Director / DG.

He/she is responsible for
– Managing and monitoring the maintenance of the MV ISAN vessel(s)
– Managing technical stoppages and scheduled work
– Supplies for the vessel(s)

He/she may replace the engineering officers, and participates in the company’s development projects and on-call duties.

Position based ashore in Noumea.
Payment of passage and accommodation expenses on arrival.

PROFILE SOUGHT

Persons with significant experience as an RN / Chief Engineer:
– Knowledge of maritime regulations (health, safety, environment, etc.)
Fluency in spoken and written fluent and technical English
– Mastery of IT tools, Excel, development, modification and monitoring of the CMMS.

Up-to-date certification: CFSS, CFBS, CAEERS, CQALI + Chief / Second Engineer Certificate Unlimited.
Rigour, autonomy and motivation are the qualities expected for this position.
