The Department of Ports, Ferries and Greenways implements the Department’s policy on cycling facilities, as defined by the Departmental Plan in June 2017 and the cycling plan voted for in 2022. It also manages the subsidy policy put in place for municipalities and public establishments of inter-municipal cooperation wishing to carry out work related to cycling. It also manages a fleet of 11 ferries operating 8 water crossings on the Seine and transporting 3.3 million vehicles a year, maintains and modernises the river and maritime infrastructures on the Seine, supervises the technical and seagoing staff assigned to these services, and renews and ensures the greening of the fleet. Finally, it oversees the management and financial monitoring of the departmental ports of Fécamp and Le Tréport and the fishing port of Le Havre.
As part of this role, the department is looking for a Head of Ferry Operations, who will be responsible for supervising 110 people, including 100 sailors.
