PRESENTATION OF THE COMPANY

The Compagnie Maritime des Iles is based in Noumea, New Caledonia, and operates a 64m LTC, the M/V ISAN, equipped for International Cabotage, which sails by the week between the mainland and the Loyalty Islands. She carries bulk cargo, containers, vehicles and/or Cl2 and Cl3 hydrocarbons.

The company is recruiting 1 Second Captain (M/F).

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Chief Officer is responsible, under the direct authority of the Captain, for the deck department and commercial operations. He/she is responsible for managing the deck crew and overseeing the general maintenance of the vessel (safety, deck equipment, hygiene, etc.) in collaboration with the engine department.
He/she works closely with the Technical Department on shore, the Dock, Freight and Workshop Departments to carry out his/her duties.

Sailing schedule: Weekly coastal sailing requiring you to be based in NC, boarding according to the shipping company’s schedule (14/14, 4/3 depending on the company’s activity and development).

The working language is French.

Open-ended contract – ENIM 12 – Payment of passage and accommodation at the beginning of the stay.

PROFILE SOUGHT

Second Captain Unlimited up to date with certification: CFSS, CFBS, CAEERS, CQALI and medical aptitude.

Persons with significant experience as Deck Officer

Rigour, autonomy and motivation are the qualities expected for this position.
