Job description:

We are looking for a Technical Superintendent to join our dynamic team and manage the technical aspects of our company’s fleet of vessels, including charter vessels. You will be responsible for coordinating all technical aspects in compliance with company policies, maritime rules and regulations.

Your tasks:

– Coordination of technical aspects: You will ensure that all technical aspects of the ships comply with internal and external standards (company policies, maritime rules, regulations).
– Supporting the teams on board: You will provide your expertise to support the chief engineers and the teams on board the ships.
– Budget management: You will prepare and monitor the ships’ technical budgets.
– Technical shutdowns: You will be involved in preparing and monitoring the specifications for any technical shutdowns required.
– Maintenance management: You will monitor orders and requests for work on the CMMS.
– New construction: You will be involved in new shipbuilding projects.

– Performance monitoring and decarbonisation: You will contribute to the monitoring of vessel performance, particularly with regard to energy efficiency and decarbonisation initiatives, with the aim of optimising the fleet’s performance and reducing its carbon footprint.
– Emergency unit: You will contribute to the emergency unit to ensure effective management of critical situations.
– Replacing the Technical Manager in his absence: In the absence of the Technical Manager, you will take over his duties and responsibilities.
– Travel: You will be required to travel on ships as well as to construction or repair sites.

Profile required:

– Training and experience :
o Merchant Navy training (experience as a chief engineer is strongly recommended).
o Degree in naval engineering, with similar experience in a technical maritime role.
o Minimum 5 years’ experience in a managerial or technical superintendent position in the maritime sector.
o Very good command of written and spoken English.

– Specific technical skills :
o Solid knowledge of sailing, rigging strongly recommended.

o Expertise in the technical management of ships and maritime maintenance.
o Mastery of maintenance management tools (CMMS).
o Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities.
o Excellent communication and coordination skills with teams on board and ashore.
o Flexibility to travel in the field (ships and yards).

Working conditions:

– Position based in Le Havre, at the company’s head office, with regular travel on board ships and to construction or repair yards.
– Remuneration commensurate with experience.
